Aasaaree Hukuru Miskiy
Nilandhoo Old Friday Mosque was probably built by the first Muslim Sultan of Maldives (1153-1165) and was built on the site of a Buddhist monastery. The mosque compound has the mosque building, an old gateway claimed to be from the Buddhist period, two coral stone wells, and a cemetery with high quality coral tombstones. The mosque has been remodeled extensively compromising its originality but has been in continues use till today. It is an example of a coral stone mosque with mihrab chamber. The mosque does not have fine ornamentation in terms of coral carving and lacquer work.
މި މިސްކިތް ބިނާކޮށްފައިވާކަމަށް ބެލެވެނީ ކުރީގެ ބުދުކޯލެއް ހުރި ތަނެއްގައި ރާއްޖޭގެ ފުރަތަމަ މުސްލިމް ސުލްތާންގެ (1153-1165) ދުވަސްވަރުއެވެ. މިސްކިތުގެ ގޯތިތެރޭގައި ހުރީ މިސްކިތާއި ބުދުދީނުގެ ޒަމާނުގެ ދޮރޯއްޓަކާއި ހިރިގަލު ދެ ފެންވަޅާއި ވަރަށް ފުރިހަމައަށް ކުރެހުން އެޅިފައިވާ ހިރިގަލު މަހާނަގައުތަކެއް ހިމެނޭ ގަބުރުސްތާނެކެވެ. އަސްލު ގެއްލޭފަދަ ބޮޑު ބަދަލުތަކެއް ގެނެވިފައިވާ މި މިސްކިތަކީ މިއަދުވެސް ނަމާދުކުރުމަށް ބޭނުންކުރަމުންދާ މިސްކިތެކެވެ. މިއީ މިހުރާބުގެ ހިމެނޭގޮތަށް ހަދާފައިވާ ހިރިގަލު މިސްކިތެއްގެ ފުރިހަމަ މިސާލެކެވެ. މި މިސްކިތުގައި ހިރިގަލު ވަޑާމާއި ލާފެންކުރުމުގެ ފަންނުވެރިކަން މާބޮޑަށް ފެންނާކަށް ނުހުރެއެވެ.
